ZTL partners with Movitz Payments to strengthen security and transparency in cross-border payments

ZTL, the Oslo-based B2B paytech that lets businesses make payments directly from the ERP and accounting systems they already use, is partnering with Movitz Payments to integrate payee verification into its payment workflow. Checking the intended recipient before a payment is executed helps reduce the risk of misdirected and failed payments and adds a layer of protection against fraud.

With ZTL, businesses can manage domestic and international payments, with live FX rates, from inside their ERP and accounting systems. To further strengthen that offering, ZTL is integrating Movitz payee verification into the payment flow, so the check becomes part of the payment rather than a separate manual step.

Why it matters more when FX is involved

When currency conversion is part of the payment, getting it right the first time matters even more. A payment sent to the wrong account, or one that bounces back because the details do not match, is not just a delay. The money has already been converted, and putting it right can mean extra handling costs, further delays and exposure to currency movements while the payment is returned and sent again.

Once the integration is in place, payee details will be checked against the receiving account before a payment is executed, where verification is supported. If the name and the account do not match, the payer is alerted before the money moves, not after.

"When FX is part of the payment flow, it is even more important to get it right the first time. A mistake is not just a delayed payment, it is a payment that has already been converted. Building payee verification into the workflow will let ZTL's customers check who they are paying before both the money and the currency move," says Magnus Hedenberg, CEO and co-founder of Movitz Payments.

"Businesses should be able to manage domestic and international payments directly from the systems they already use, without compromising on security or transparency. Working with Movitz allows us to bring an additional layer of beneficiary verification into that embedded payment experience, helping customers identify potential errors earlier," says Andreas Bjerke, CEO and co-founder of ZTL.

For ZTL's customers, the partnership is set to mean fewer payments that go astray, less time spent chasing returns and stronger protection against fraud, without changing the systems they already use to pay.
